ARCHV is run by Matthew McConnachie, a sole trader in Scotland, trading as ARCHV, at Office 1763, 3 Fitzroy Place, 1/1, Sauchiehall Street, Finnieston, Glasgow G3 7RH, United Kingdom. You can reach us at [email protected].
We’re the controller of the personal data described here under UK data protection law. This notice says what we keep, why, and who we share it with.
What we keep
- Your account: your email address, your name if you give one, and your password as a salted scrypt hash (we can’t read it). If you sign in with Google or Apple, we keep the account ID they give us.
- Your sessions: a cookie that keeps you signed in. We store only a hash of it.
- What you do: the pieces you watch, the alerts we send you, the pieces you unlock, and your email and browser alert settings.
- Limits: a daily count of photo searches and sign-ups per network, keyed by a hash of your IP address. We delete these counts after 90 days.
- Orders we buy for you: the delivery address and name you give at checkout, your notes, what you paid, and tracking. Stripe holds your card details; we never see them.
- Photos you search with: we compare the photo with ours and don’t keep it.
We show listings from public marketplaces, but we don’t show or keep sellers’ names. We don’t use analytics or advertising trackers.
Why
We use your data to run your account and send the alerts you ask for (our contract with you), to take payment and deliver orders (the same), to keep accounts safe and stop abuse (our legitimate interest), and to keep tax records (a legal obligation).
Who we share it with
- Stripe takes payment for Paid memberships and for orders we buy for you.
- Resend sends our emails.
- Cloudflare carries traffic to the site.
- Our forwarder in Japan (Remambo or FromJapan) receives your name and address to ship an order to you.
- Your browser’s push service (Apple, Google or Mozilla) delivers browser alerts if you turn them on.
Some of these companies process data outside the UK, under safeguards such as the UK’s international data transfer agreements. We don’t sell your data.
How long
We keep your account until you delete it or ask us to. We keep order and payment records for six years, as UK tax law requires.
Cookies
We set one cookie, to keep you signed in. Your browser also stores your currency and a few display choices on your device. We need these for the site to work, so we don’t ask first.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email [email protected]. If you’re unhappy with our answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
